Faith

If you had to explain to someone where your faith stood right now in Christ, would you be excited to share? Would you be hesitant? Do you feel like you know more than others? Or you know hardly anything at all?
Honestly, however you answer that does not make you any less worthy than others. You and God have your own relationship and its your responsibility to seek that for yourself. Don’t worry if someone else is more advanced than you or if you feel that you started late in life.

We are not perfect people in this world and we will be skeptical. There are plenty of other corrupted things around that will persuade our thoughts and actions and make us think what “might” be better than following God. See, everything in this world is only good until the world is over or until you go to either Heaven or Hell. The materialistic things in the world do not get to go to Heaven with you, they stay here and do no benefit for you in eternity. We may think this life is long but in realty its just a short blimp in between Christ ascending and Christ returning.

Where do you stand in your faith if Christ comes back tomorrow?

A quick definition in faith is basically completely putting our trust into something, in this instance, God. Don’t panic thinking you can never question God or have days that you will be completely confused with Him. We all do it and we all get a little frustrated when we do not understand what His plan is. That’s totally normal and honestly if we are questioning Him, that means we believe in Him and are talking to Him like we should. He has endless amount of mercy so he can handle your confused and frustrated emotions.

Some of the most memorable people in the bible questioned God all the time. But, they stood strong in showing their faith in Him. That’s what is important, standing strong in your faith. You may be saying you need more proof from Him or more of an explanation, but do not be blind when he comes out and shows you. Do not turn the other cheek when he gives you what you ask just because it wasn’t the way you pictured it.

Abram (Abraham) had doubt, Moses, John the Baptist, and some of his very own disciples that were with Jesus through His miracles still doubted him. They were all humans just like us. The difference is they got to experience God and Jesus in much different settings. They didn’t have the background noise as bad as we do with society. And if they did, most of them could block that out because their faith was stronger.

I want to touch base on Thomas, a disciple that doubted Jesus’ resurrection.
John 20:24-25 Now Thomas, one of the twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
A week later Jesus comes back to visit the disciples and Thomas was there, Jesus comes up and shows his hands and side. Of course, Thomas believes its him and is excited. Lets skip a verse or two..
John 20:29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

I’m not saying we are better than Thomas in the bible, but I am saying think of how strong our faith is that we have never seen Jesus in the flesh and yet we believe. We believe that one day he will come back and take us into eternity with God. We have the bible that tells us this and its a living word that we can trust. Thomas and the disciples didn’t have the bible, they got to see Jesus in his own element but just like all of us, they still doubted. You don’t have to beat yourself up if you are unsure about God, but you do need to realize that this your faith and your decisions. No one can come between you and God. People will have their opinions but that’s all they are. They do not define your relationship with God.

Your faith is what will bring you to the heavens and give you the peace and strength you need to make it on this earth until Jesus comes. Stop worrying about peoples opinions and start focusing on your own beliefs. Seek him and grow in your faith. Stay strong my friends.

Much love,
Charity
