Wait

Waiting and patience are similar words, it depends on the context you are using them. Patience means you have accepted the possibility of waiting for a time. Wait means you are just in a stand still waiting for whatever to come or go. There are plenty of times I can think of during my faith journey that I’m waiting for God to make a move and me patiently waiting for Gods plan. I have already completed a post on patience because that fit my life at the time. Waiting is what I’m suck in right now. I am waiting for things to happen and waiting for some things to change. I am running out of patience but I am continuing to remind myself that it’s Gods timing, no matter what I think should happen right now. I feel like if you have read most of my posts you realize how impatient I am. I know, I know, I’m bad and I promise I try to work on it each day. A good verse I came across recently is from PSALMS. If you haven’t read psalms, I suggest you do, especially in a hard time in your life and a waiting time for you. There is so many good scriptures in there.
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait on the Lord. Psalms 27:14 NASB
Did you see that it said at the beginning and the end of the verse to wait on the lord? It’s reminding us at the beginning and end that we must wait on the Lord and his timing. He is the only one that knows how this all plays out, we shouldn’t be living in anxiety and fear (we are human so it happens) but the amount of weight that can be lifted off of you if you just take it day, by day, by day. He will give you peace and joy that you didn’t know existed.
“So do not worry about tomorrow; For tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34 NASB

Can you think of a time you have waited or have been patient for God? Have you ever felt you wouldn’t see the end and thought you couldn’t wait any longer? I know I have, multiple different times.
If you have read the Bible or even just some, you realized it’s full of other humans that have no understand of how to love Jesus like their supposed to and trust his plans. I have never felt so much better about my life until I started reading the Bible and realizing they are just human like me. EXCEPT, they got to see Jesus and witness his work and they still doubted him everyday! Isn’t that crazy? See Jesus heal a blind man and then still wonder if he is actually real or if you should trust him? How bazar? But we do it all the time, just he’s not in physical flesh.

Have you heard of the story of Lazarus that died and was brought back to life? It’s pretty popular with church folks so possibly you have?
Mary and Martha’s brother was sick and they wanted Jesus to come quickly and heal him. They didn’t want him to die so they asked Jesus to come right away. By the time he came, Lazarus was dead for 4 days. Can you imagine the pain and frustration Mary and Martha we’re going through. Jesus was supposed to be their friend, he had the ability to heal so why was he taking so long? Jesus knew the plan and needed to finish up some things. If Jesus would of came right away and healed Lazarus, it would of been good but would it of been amazing and gave God the glory? What people haven’t seem before, Jesus was about to show them. He was going to show more people how powerful God was. He went to Lazarus tomb and called him out, “Lazarus, come forth!” And out walks Lazarus in the flesh and alive. I read this thing that stated that Jesus was so powerful that if he didn’t call out Lazarus first name and just said “come forth” he would of called out anyone dead that was in there. This man had the power to awake all the dead. That’s mind blowing to me.

So the gist of that story? Jesus waited for the perfect time when he knew others would crowd around and want to see his work. He was able to bless so many that day because they began believing just by seeing Lazarus coming back to life.
“therefore many of the Jews who came to Mary, and saw what He had done, believed in Him.” John 11:45 NASB.
If you keep reading, the scripture it goes to tell that this is what also helped the Pharisees plot the death of Jesus. But that’s for a later time.

I feel like it’s good to have a reminder that God is for us and he is not plottting ways to make us miserable or upset us. He does not seek revenge and is not temping us. He just asks that we trust him and wait. He’s got us, just worry about today and take on tomorrow when it’s time. Just wait my friend.

Much love,
Charity
