Thankful
What if you woke up today with ONLY what you thanked God for yesterday?
Would you have anything left?
Children? Spouse? House? Job? Car?
I think we loose track on what to be thankful for now a days. Everyone is so used to being handed things, me included. We’re so used to expecting to have a nice purse, phone, nice car, house, kids actually listening, and have the perfect marriage. How many people can actually say they have all of that? Not me, it’s not realistic. But you can have kids that YOU raise to be the best they can, a marriage that you BOTH work to fight for and make each other happy. A car that works to get you to your job that makes you money (even if your not completely happy there). You have some type of home that’s not on the street. We all have to work for what we want and it’s only up to you to make that happen. God doesn’t just hand people stuff, he helps us get the right tools and things they need to accomplish it. It’s up to you if you listen to him and trust his plan.
I always pray for my kids because when they are not with me and I’m at work, they only thing I can do for them is pray their safe and having fun. If not, I’ll sit there anxious worried about what could happen to them. That’s great to be thankful for your children and pray each day for them. Guess what’s not good.. Putting kids in front of your spouse. Hang in there with me, I know they are your loving little kids you adore so much and they need you more than your spouse because their so young. But, have you ever thought about how much you pray for your spouse? The simple things maybe but I’m talking about DAILY thanking God for crossing your paths and allowing you to raise those kids with another human to help you and support you. Daily thanking God your still together and growing in life. Thanking him for all the mess y’all have gone through together and continuing to fight. Maybe you don’t have the perfect relationship or you have grudges you haven’t worked on together yet. That is A OK, once you start realizing the blessings from them being in your life, praying for them each day, and your relationship. Your thankfulness with come easier and easier.
Don’t like your job and can’t change it right now? Maybe your supposed to be there for some time because bigger blessings are coming. Everyone expects things to change immediately. I mean I did! I wrote a whole post on patience because I am number one on being impatient. But we should never take things for granted. We should be thankful for all the things God has blessed us with even if we didn’t see the beauty in it right away.
We have all been through rough seasons in life but I can tell you that now that I’m out of those seasons, I can tell you exactly where God was and how he worked it all out for the good. It transformed me and changed my whole situation for the better.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” It says to give thanks IN EVERYTHING. No matter the circumstances, remember that God is in control of your life if you allow him. He can turn any bad situation into the best situation you can ever imagine. Not just fix the current situation and make you happy, I’m talking about life changing issues that you never thought would see the light. The man that brought people back from the dead is still here to help you. Be thankful that no matter what bad we can do, he never gives up on us. And that, I am very thankful for.
Much love,
Charity
