Death

Death is something that most people seem to be afraid of. Either they are scared how they will die, where they will go, confused what happens after, or scared how their family will manage without them. This list could go on and on with multiple different options as to why we’re scared to die. We are also scared for our family that might die before us, the agony and pain we suffer when we loose them. Are they saved or not? We’re they in pain when they passed? Death is inevitable and unfortunately we will all die at some point in this life.

This life we are living now, is so temporary. It’s hard for us all to digest because this life lasts years and years for us. But the reality is that this is just a short snapshot between the world being created and the day Jesus comes and takes us all with him for judgment.

First, we need to establish what happens after death if we are a believer and if we are not. A believer is someone who believes in God and understands that he sacrificed his son’s life so we could be forgiven for all of our sins. Jesus was the last living sacrifice for us because God loves us so much.

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

Let’s brake this down: He loves the world. Not just me or not just you, the whole world. (Even that person you hate for some silly reason) He loves them too. Since he loves us, he gave his only son to die for us. I don’t know about y’all, but as a parent I cannot comprehend how he was able to do that. Then, it goes to say that whoever believes in him shall not perish, meaning we will not be casted into the lake of fire to perish for eternity. It says we will have eternal life with God. How amazing is that?

Now, the other side. Nonbelievers. Let’s be honest, if you are a nonbeliever you probably are not reading my blog, or maybe your skeptical and wanting to see what all the fuss about Jesus is. That’s great if you are here reading. But, I hate to break it to you, nonbelievers do not get a luxurious afterlife on the gold sidewalks with Jesus.

Luke 16 talks about a man that died and was sent into the fire. It talks about how he begged to come out of it and how he was in so much anguish. Just thinking of spending eternity, literally all eternity, in anguish and torture sounds horrible. If there is a way to change that, why not try it out?You don’t have to be a huge crazy Christian that try’s to throw God at everyone, you just have to believe. That. is it.

Your salvation can not be taken away from you, no matter what people or religions say. Your salvation is a gift from God and is yours. Now, if you make bad decisions, decide not to repent, or go against Gods word, then you will be asked at judgment and questioned over every single thing you have done. I will be questioned over everything I have done in my life. But when God asks me what I have done for him, I want to be able to show that I exhausted every single gift he gave me, all for his glory.

Death is going to happen to all of us, God has us in this time between the creation and the revaluation for us to make our own decisions and show him why we deserve to be near his thrown with him in heaven. How will you prove in this life what you deserve to walk the streets of gold with Jesus?

Much love,
Charity
