Unsettled

The world is at a unsure place right now. People are nervous, scared, angry, sad, upset, uneasy, agitated, ect. The list can go on describing the different emotions around the world right now. I know this is probably the last thing you want to read about if its just going to be about CoVid19. Relax I’m just as annoyed about that as you probably are. What I want to talk about today is how we should change our feelings and how we can take our uneasy thoughts and turn them into peaceful thoughts.

As I was sitting here thinking about what to talk about and what I should make my next blog post about, I was thinking I should make it relevant with the current Pandemic that is going on. I was on the CDC website and I was looking at the updated numbers. I have tried keeping up with the number and I constantly hear about the changes at work. I would be lying if I said it didn’t worry me at all. I am concerned about what is happening and I feel empathy for those being effected. In actuality, I am at peace with the situation. Not that I don’t care or will not take proper precautions, but thinking about the possibility of the spread or catching it does not scare me. I work in Healthcare so I am around potential positive cases all day, but I keep my head on what’s above and not in the current situations in the flesh. I feel that everything is pointing us to look at “numbers” and “death tolls” but nothing is discussed about all the others that have survived and are back to their normal lives. That has caused a panic to the world and the people we know.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.
This scripture fits the world right now pretty well. Jesus is talking to his disciple and telling them about him leaving to his Father. He tells them that they will have peace in him. He says we will have hard times in this life, BUT we should have courage because he has already overcome the world. Meaning, we should feel at peace knowing that whatever is going on in this world at any time, he has overcome it. No matter the circumstance, no matter the day, time, or year; Jesus has already taken it and made it perfect for us. He works things out for the good of his people.

Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for the good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Whether your circumstance is sickness, quarantined in your house, laid off from work, finances drowning you, your children at home and you having to teach them school, your an essential working and your job is going crazy, or you work in health care and come in contact with the virus everyday. How you react to the situation is how your going to feel every day. Scared, anxious, fearful, your day is probably going to be long and unsettled. You will have rough days, don’t get me wrong, but changing your thinking to positive thoughts about your situation will make your day tremendously more pleasant.

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.

Romans 5:3-5 And we are also happy with the troubles we have. Why are we happy with troubles? Because we know that these troubles make us more patient. And this patience is proof that we are strong. And this proof gives us hope.

Colossians 3:2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.

There are plenty more encouraging scriptures in the Bible to help guide us in this time. Its up to us to sit down and instead of getting on social media, the news, or the CDC, read your bible. Find scriptures that fit what your going through and meditate on the words and meanings. I know most of your are quarantined or have a shelter in place at home, you have time to read.

This is a scary time that will go in all the new history books, but I want you to remember something. This time is allowing us to slow down, enjoy our kids, and thank God for everything he has blessed us with so far in our lives. Just take a deep breath and seize the day!

Much love,
Charity
